Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Ability to test, maintain, enhance and document the embedded firmware with high complexity for our optimized & performance controller offer
  • Designing solution (specification, coding, testing, debug)
  • Developping prototypes to prove architecture choices against key requirements
  • Analyzing software architectures and designs
  • Being involved in maintenance activities, especially on issues raised by customers, insuring a high level of reactivity to solve them
  • Supporting the validation team to adapt or implement new test cases
  • Preparing information for the user documentation
  • Collaboration with other teams inside R&D, validation and application
  • Being the interface for the expert support team to analyze reported customer problems

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or Higher Degree (Technical University) in Computer Science, Electronics, Automation or related discipline with strong software / embedded firmware focus
  • Background and/or experience in the development of software for embedded systems with hard real time aspects with focus on automation products (PLC’s)
  • Experience with automation technologies
  • Knowledge of C++, C, and embedded platforms
  • Knowledge of field busses (CAN, ETHERNET/IP) and networking (Ethernet, UDP, TCP/IP, …)
  • Knowledge in real time operating systems (VxWorks) in ARM processor architectures
  • Knowledge in software development process (ClearCase, Git)
  • Strong team player in international and multi-site environment
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English, German will be a plus
