My Engineering Story: Jovan, Junior Embedded Software Engineer

Being part of a team that always strives to achieve common goals regardless of obstacles significantly affects satisfaction with this job.

Although it may not seem so at a young age, you are always at a great advantage when you know what you want, and I have always known that. I was never conditioned by the opinions of my peers, close people, or family to choose a certain job because I’ve always wanted to work in what interests and fulfills me, what I love, what I can practically apply, and what I can make a decent living from.

Enrolling in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was just another step towards achieving my goals. During my studies, I had the opportunity to acquaint myself with a wide range of engineering areas, but my focus remained unchanged – the field of industrial automation.

During my master’s studies, I continued to expand my knowledge, both theoretically and practically, and everything was much more serious and challenging. From older colleagues, in the final year of my master’s studies, I heard about Avisto Eastern Europe and their internship programs and assistance to young engineers, so I visited the Job fair, and thus obtained all the necessary information, got acquainted with the conditions, standards…

With the selfless support of my mentors, I successfully overcame all obstacles and acquired the necessary knowledge and skills. In an exceptionally professional and pleasant working environment surrounded by successful, professional, and above all pleasant people who are always ready to help, I continued to improve myself.

Working in this position provides daily challenges in line with market demands and the latest technologies. Being part of a team that always strives to achieve common goals regardless of obstacles significantly affects satisfaction with this job.

Research, and life, teach us that money is a motivator only up to a certain level. My experience shows that it is possible to do a job you love, full of challenges and obstacles that need to be solved daily, and to make great strides in your career when you have the unwavering support of the right people as long as you are clear about why you are doing it.
