Belgrade, February 10th, 2023
I always felt like I was a black sheep of my family since most of them are involved in social sciences, but I always knew that I would eventually end up studying something more related to natural sciences. Growing up, I was always fascinated with technology, especially in IT. From a young age, I was passionate about problem-solving, and math was never a problem, so I enrolled in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, a module for Telecommunications and Information Technology. Now I am a proud owner of a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering.
The first time I heard about Avisto Eastern Europe was at the JobFair, while I was in my second year of studies. I immediately felt that the atmosphere at Avisto’s booth was very positive. They presented the company and the fields of expertise in which our company specialized and invited me to take a quiz and win some prizes. I aced the quiz 😊. I still keep the gifts I earned that day.
A few years later, I received an email saying that there was an open DevOps Internship position. I didn’t hesitate to submit because that was just what I was looking for – approving and friendly colleagues, always ready to help (and always in the mood to have fun! 😊).
The internship project was beneficial – I learned the basics of all the tools I am using today as a DevOps engineer. During the Internship program, my mentors were there to help me whenever I encountered a problem. After successfully finishing the Internship program, I got the offer to stay in Avisto and become a DevOps Engineer.
As a DevOps engineer, I can work on exciting and challenging projects at the intersection of software development and IT operations. One of the things I love the most about being a DevOps engineer is the variety of work I get to do.
Finally, I love being a DevOps engineer because I work in a great team with good communication and without pressure. I never imagined that my first employment would be this pleasant. 😊
I am excited to see what the future holds for me!
